About Pam
I'm an artist, creative guide, and teacher based in Carbondale, Colorado, where I lived as a child.
I believe creativity belongs to everyone. It isn't about talent or making perfect art. It's about slowing down, paying attention, exploring, and reconnecting with ourselves. Whether through collage or printmaking, my hope is to create welcoming spaces where people feel free to experiment, trust their intuition, and enjoy the creative process.
Teaching is one of the great joys of my life. For many years I worked with children in my own art studios in Boulder and later in Carbondale after returning here in 2013. Those years shaped the way I teach today. I discovered that creativity flourishes when people feel safe to play, follow their curiosity, and let go of the need to "get it right." That philosophy continues to guide everything I do.
My parents were teachers at Colorado Rocky Mountain School in the 1960s, and I grew up in a home that valued creativity, curiosity, and lifelong learning. Some of my happiest memories are of my mom setting up an art table where I could create freely—no pressure, no expectations, just curiosity and play. That experience planted a seed that has stayed with me throughout my life.
I first fell in love with printmaking at age seven when my dad taught me how to carve and print linoleum blocks. Later, growing up in Santa Fe, I was surrounded by an extraordinary artistic community whose colors, landscapes, and spirit continue to influence my work. Summers spent on Lake Michigan gave me another lasting gift—a love of water, light, and open spaces that still finds their way into my artwork.
Today my work centers on two passions.
The first is The Creative Path: Returning to Creativity Through Collage—a monthly gathering where people come together to reconnect with their creativity through collage, reflection, and community. I believe that in a busy and often overwhelming world, creativity can be both grounding and renewing.
The second is teaching Gelli-Block Printing, a playful and intuitive printmaking process that I continue to teach through The Art Base and other art centers. I love introducing people to this colorful medium and watching their confidence grow as they discover what's possible.
I hold a Master's Degree in Arts Education and am a Certified Professional Life Coach and Certified SoulCollage® Facilitator. Those experiences have shaped my work, but more than anything, I see myself as a creative guide—someone who creates welcoming spaces where people can reconnect with their creativity and discover where it leads.
When I'm not teaching, you'll usually find me in my home studio painting, making prints, or creating collages as part of my own creative practice. Creativity continues to nourish my own life, and it's a privilege to share that journey with others.
